Office is an appliance designed for Small and Medium Enterprises
(SMEs). It consists of a pre-configured server that integrates
Internet, voice, and data in one single system. It provides
a complete set of services in the simplest way possible, in
order to meet the expectations of small and Medium businesses
in terms of communication flow and management to enhance company
efficiency and productivity. OmniPCX Office is a modular and
scalable solution that can be tailored to fit customer business
needs, organisation needs and IT needs.
It has
an everything-in-one-box design, for simple installation,
simple management and simplicity of use. It is entirely pre-configured.
Not only does it include telephone and computer networking,
but all of the necessary applications for next-generation
communications. All these applications are embedded in the
system, including secure internet access, e-mail server, LAN
infrastructure and services, computer telephony integration,
call management featuring personal assistant and voice mail,
on-site mobility, etc. All combined its very cost-effective.

It
is modular. Alcatel OmniPCX Office allows a great flexibility
of configurations and services thanks to its single software,
its modular hardware architecture and non-dedicated back panel
slots. To cover the whole SME market segment (6 to 236 extensions),
Alcatel OmniPCX Office exists in 3 different data form factor
models that can be easily mounted in a 19" data cabinet,
with a large choice of hardware and software options for which
installation and configuration on site are reduced to a bare
minimum. It is ready to evolve as the company's business grows.
Its modular architecture is combined with a software key management
system allowing you to rapidly add new features, add terminals
or expand OmniPCX Office capacity.
It is open. Alcatel is the first leading manufacturer in its
field to adopt Linux, an operating system with a broad acceptance
across the computer industry. Linux is a reliable, extremely
powerful and stable operating system and which integrates
the main internet protocols. Moreover, OmniPCX Office is based
on standard protocols (CSTA, TAPI, IP, PPP, PAP/CHAP, PPTP,
IPSec, POP3/SMTP), which means it is open to a wide choice
of applications developed by Alcatel or by third party application
vendors.
