Your Route to the "Net"

Specifically designed to meet the needs of the medium sized business, or remote office, the easy to install ArgentOffice router supports Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). This allows you to automate the management of your IP network addressing, saving you time and negating the need for skilled support personnel. The Alchemy Installation Wizard provides a familiar Windows Set-up and Control Panel allowing easy configuration and control of the network.

Firewall Security

Internet security concerns are addressed through the provision of an integrated firewall. This removes the need for an expensive, standalone, software solution tying up another PC. The firewall access software will allow you to control who can access external resources, and when, whilst isolating your private networks from the Internet. The integrated firewall will also perform Network Address Translation allowing access to the Internet using a single pre-configured, or dynamically assigned IP address, yet still allow all your PCs and workstations simultaneous access if and when required.

The access software features time of day/day of week and usage limits to control access to each remote site and/or service provider and for dial-in users, providing peace of mind for security. Furthermore access control allows you to prevent unauthorised WAN use, enabling tight budgetary control in addition to network security.

Integrated Voice PBX

When the ArgentPhone module is deployed in conjunction with the ArgentOffice 4/8/30, the ISDN connections can be used for conventional telephone, fax or modem connections in addition to carrying data. The ArgentOffice provides a fully featured, integrated voice PBX providing enhanced facilities, while requiring only standard and inexpensive telephone handsets. The ArgentOffice forwards Caller Display information to the telephone ports and associated PC(s). This allows the number and name of the caller to be displayed on any standard analogue phone supporting the Caller Display feature and/or on the PC screen.

Computer Telephony (CT) for all

ArgentOffice brings the benefits of CT, until now only economic in large call-centres, within the reach of even the smallest organisation. Up to 96 standard telephones can be connected to ArgentOffice, and due to the tight integration between the extended telephony features and the high speed LAN connections, each telephone can be linked to a user's PC, utilising Microsoft’s Telephony API (TAPI), to provide a myriad of value added features. TAPI is an inherent feature of Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 95. All incoming calls can be monitored and logged on a user’s PC. The Incoming Caller Number can be displayed on both standard telephones supporting this function and on associated PC screens. ArgentOffice supports Multiple Subscriber Numbering (MSN) and Sub-addressing to allow the easy routing of incoming calls. Furthermore, support for Enhanced Telephone Services/Star Services/Select Services means users can take advantage of value added public network facilities such as Call Holding where available.

ArgentOffice defines a new level of Computer Telephony convergence, with unanswered calls being directed to a digital answering facility. The recorded message is then forwarded to Windows mail, providing a unified voice and E-mail messaging interface.

Windows 95/NT 4.0 Compatibility

ArgentOffice is fully compatible with Windows 95, Windows NT 4.0 and Windows NT Workstation 4.0 and takes advantage of many of Microsoft’s in-built Computer Telephony features and facilities.

Remote Access

The integral ArgentModem 21 modem interface module allows the integration of Modem dial up, telephone and digital Internet/Intranet access in one compact unit. The modem(s) can be pooled to allow the outgoing modem to be shared amongst all the local PC’s (especially for fax modems).

Modular Stackable System

The Network Alchemy ArgentOffice system consists of a series of modules that may be shelf or rack-mounted. Modules can be added easily and quickly as and when required.
