What
is a Premicell - Fixed Cellular Terminal
Fixed
Cellular Terminals have two applications:
- To
reduce call costs to mobile phones from your office PABX
- Provide
a wired telephone line in remote areas without access to
fixed lines. e.g. portacabins or ships
Businesses
are currently burdened with the massive call costs to mobile
phones from your office landlines. We can arrange for your
calls to mobile phones to be routed directly over one or all
of the mobile phone networks. As you are making calls "on
net" cost savings are significant, often less than half
the cost of making calls via BT or equivalent.
Average
savings can be as much as 50% on calls to mobile phones compared
to fixed line charges
A fixed
cellular terminal device such as the Nokia
32 or Ericsson F250 Premicell
interfaces directly with your telephone system / PABX and
will route calls via any of the mobile networks - it is essentially
a "wired" mobile phone. Alternatively, it is possible
to connect a single phone or fax machine to it; this might
be a better solution in a small office, or to provide "fixed"
telecommunications for a temporary site office, mobile home
or ship.
Depending
on the number of calls your business makes to mobile phones
it may be beneficial to install more than premicell, no matter
how many you install you will always be able to complete calls,
even if every unit is in use (as your PABX will revert to
routing the call over the existing fixed lines).
Typically,
if your business is making more than 15 minutes of calls every
weekday to mobile numbers then the cost of the Premicell and
line rental will be paid back in only a few months. After
this all savings contribute directly to the bottom line.
The Premicell
can also connect directly to a PC and be used like a modem
with connection speeds up to 28.8kbps, either to send SMS
text messages to mobile phones, or for data or fax calls to
your employees handsets.
