Assuring the end-to-end integrity of enterprise operations requires the alignment of application needs with the underlying network infrastructure servicing them. SynApps delivers comprehensive traffic management that is responsive, fit and optimized to support application requirements. SynApps Architecture takes the five tenets needed for a solid network solution - application health monitoring, traffic redirection, bandwidth management, application security, and DoS mitigation - and integrates them into our solutions to ensure quality service and full application integrity.

Health Monitoring - To overcome failures, Radware provides a comprehensive knowledgebase of health checks to provide full path health monitoring. Health checks include IP/TCP layer checks, application layer checks, content checks, and custom scripting. Radware's scripting capabilities do not require special knowledge, nor do they result in any performance degradation of the Radware device. Also, health checks can be combined to verify the health of all network elements, and the dependencies among them, upon which the integrity of the application relies. Finally, in partnership with BMC Software, the health of any element of any application in any environment can be checked, and the appropriate traffic redirection decision can be made should failure be detected.

Traffic Redirection - Radware overcomes issues of non-optimization of resources, and the costs associated with it, through comprehensive traffic redirection. Traffic redirection encompasses resource load balancing, web switching, content switching, and more. Radware redirects traffic to web servers, application servers, database servers, firewalls, Virtual Private Network (VPN) gateways, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), anti-virus and content inspection systems, forward and reverse proxy cache servers, and more. Through powerful and flexible traffic redirection methodologies, Radware ensures the load balancing, optimization, and high availability of your network application, no matter what resources it depends upon.

Bandwidth Management - Radware offers sophisticated bandwidth management capabilities, to ensure complete visibility and control of your organization's bandwidth utilization. Bandwidth management overcomes issues of non-differentiation by allowing you to guarantee or limit bandwidth, and/or classify and prioritize traffic according to source, destination, application, or combinations of these. This allows you to give gold users priority over bronze users, shoppers priority over browsers, and management priority over personnel. This lets organizations compare actual bandwidth utilization with organizational benchmarks, enabling network managers to ensure the highest possible quality of service.

Application Security - SynApps's application security module detects over 450 common attack signatures and defends against them in real time. This means common attacks like the Nimda virus or Code Red are detected and mitigated before they reach network resources. This not only adds an additional layer of security to your network, it also offloads common attacks from your firewalls and IDS devices, freeing up their resources to defend against more sophisticated attacks.

DoS Shield - For DoS attacks in Gigabit throughput environments, Radware offers DoS Shield, which detects and mitigates DoS attacks while maintaining high throughput of legitimate traffic. DoS Shield is also fully customizable so that known attack signatures can be easily configured for detection and mitigation.
